GATES High School Scholarships

The following scholarships are available to graduating GATES High School seniors.  For more information on these scholarships please see your counselor.



Emerson and JoAnne Matson Memorial Scholarship
(In memory of former school board members)


This one-year scholarship is in the amount of $300. Each scholarship will be awarded to someone who has excelled in written communication or creative writing, has a minimum GPA of 3.0 and showed well-rounded participation in school and community activities.


 

Pamela Kay Raynor Memorial Scholarship
(In memory of a long-time special education teacher in the district)

This one-year scholarship is in the amount of $500. The scholarship will be awarded to someone who has shown perseverance in overcoming obstacles to their education. Obstacles may include, but not limited to, special needs that required an IEP or 504 plan, long-term or chronic illness or injury, and personal or family hardships.



Superintendent's Scholarship

This one-year scholarship is in the amount of $500. It is awarded to a graduating senior who has not received a scholarship but is considered a hard-working student. It is intended to encourage students to continue the education beyond high school. Financial need is a consideration. Minority students will be given priority consideration.
